The JAMAKHAN Stripe rug is inspired by Bhavani ‘Jamakkalams’, the colourful, graphic and often oversized floor-coverings used in homes and at weddings and public events in and around the region of Tamil Nadu in southern India. Working with textile-designer Sagarika Sundaram our contemporary take on the original and iconic textile features striking horizontal lines of varying widths. Hand-woven in the small town of Bhavani in the Erode district of Tamil Nadu, the Stripe Rug is available in grey and yellow or pink and yellow.

The patterns for the JAMAKHAN collection were designed by Indian textile designer Sagarika Sundaram in collaboration with Tiipoi and hand-woven in the small town of Bhavani in the Erode district of Tamil Nadu. Our contemporary take on this original and iconic textile features striking horizontal lines of varying widths and a rich use of colour.
